It is indeed cool to fly above the map and to drive a boat across the game’s rivers and seas, but the handling of those vehicles is terribly bad. Games like GTA V annihilate The Crew 2 on that aspect.I am also very disappointed in what regards the map. It is recycled from The Crew 1, but with even less details. Small cities have been removed, a few roads have been cut (for the anecdote I even drove on a 2-lane highway that abruptly stops to become a one-way road… And I hate this X-Games vibe. The map looks like a giant playground, pink and fluo everywhere because of the starting points of races/events that take a huge space a bit everywhere on the map. Let’s keep in mind that it is still a pleasure to drive across this large world with one of your favorite cars, but it lacks the details that made The Crew 1 a good game. You can even feel that with the community. Before, all the people I’d meet during my drives would always be friendly and we’d just naturally start riding together and doings some sprints or road trips. In The Crew 2, I didn’t feel this anymore. Because of the battle pass - or whatever it’s called - grind, people are all in a hurry and doing some pointless farming. By including too many of those superficial items, they took the freedom that comes with The Crew away.For what regards the cars lineup, it’s not different enough from The Crew 1 (again) but I played the game in 2021 so DLC compensate a bit (but you’re still light years away from Forza Horizon).The game doesn’t look too bad compared to The Crew’s first generation graphics. There are some decent reflections and cars look decent. Considering the size of the map that is acceptable for a game released in 2018. I also like the fact that it keeps receiving updates and a few DLC vehicles.Finally, I can talk about the handling. Well it’s like The Crew 1, it’s very odd in the beginning but you can get used to it. Not a fan of it but acceptable enough to enjoy driving a bit.Overall, this game feels like a downgrade from its older sibling The Crew. Not technically of course, but it lost its identity to create something that doesn’t fit. It took away some elements that made The Crew a good game in its time, and awkwardly recycled the rest by committing grotesque mistakes. Because of the total void of open-world racing games on PS4, The Crew 2 remains a good reference and will remain enjoyable especially for people who discover the franchise.

The car's design is good, but the racing phisics are very unrealistic, and sometimes the gameplay is very annoying, with countless bugs. Also, the constant need for an internet connection is not necessary for a balanced experience, I experienced several servers crashes. So, it's a good game, but if you are looking for a more realistic arcade experience, go for Forza Horizon, or if what you want is a simulator, go for Gran Turismo.

That's why free drive routes were so effective in the first game, as you could set a waypoint for the people in your convoy, and race to a destination with your friends, essentially being able to create custom routes with checkpoints. And this is the main problem. The summit is a let down also and since that's the only thing pretty much keeping the game alive, the game has essentially silenced itself, making it seem like Ubisoft doesn't really care.Overall, the game is good value for money, but only if on sale. Such a shame really.

You also need to download a special Ubisoft app just to create a Ubisoft account (why?). The ubisoft app itself is terrible and it took 15 mins just to create an account just so I could start the game. The game starts up and the picture is too big for my huge flatscreen and there's no way to adjust the size of the picture (why?) -- as such, I can't see what's on the edges off the screen, the captions, etc. You're in NY or something and you're driving some orange car -- after two turns, the game completely stopped responding to my left/right inputs so I couldn't steer the car. I quit the game and deleted it off my system. Seriously, how did this pass QA? I'm done with 'The Crew' franchise.

A slightly above average arcade racer with a giant map that unfortunately brings more trouble than benefits. Dynamic switching of vehicles is funny, but it is unable to cover up the unfinished work.

The Crew 2 did a good job on improving the original game. It's a little bit more of everything, and the new road/sea/air feature offers a lot of fun and variety. Some new race categories are much better than others however (the bike races are particularly bad), and the driving controls are still basic compared to what we can expect from a 2018 racing game.

he open world remains impressive but less so when there's barely anything fun to do. Although it's designed for constant online play, good luck trying to find someone who stays long enough for you to engage with, let alone someone who can witness the sweet decal job on your vehicle. It may get better in a year's time, but for now, The Crew 2 is more of a chore than an enjoyable experience.

The crew 2 outshines its predecessor with a remarkable arcade-ish nature, that is not necessarily very unique or original. The new cars and variety of events blends to make it a very enjoyable and fun game that will drive us around the entire United States for a while.

The Crew 2 has the whiff of a game that might become something wonderful in a year’s time, after numerous patches and additions. But right here, at the beginning, it doesn’t do enough.

The Crew 2 is a whisker away from being a great game. You can spend an entire afternoon just enjoying the cars and driving without a specific purpose, while taking in some of the marvelous views, and it feels really good. However, the major downsides - ubiquitous copy-pasting and a rather scant number of genuine innovations - don't allow me to recommend this game to absolutely everyone; not just yet.

In all, The Crew 2 is a big step forward for the series and does its best to right the wrongs of the original. Take the time to learn the ins and outs here and you will have a game that gives you hours and hours of enjoyment.

The Crew 2 is one of the most ambitious racing game we have ever seen. With gorgeous views and different kind of vehicles, it strikes you really fast. But problems with car physics and lack of PvP, it feels like an unfinished product.

Despite all the cool features that are touted, it the end is just a soulless racing game that doesn’t excel at anything but also doesn’t really fail in any significant way.

If you’re willing to accept The Crew 2 for the buggy, unsure of itself game that it is, there is some fun to be had, but its lagging far behind the competition at this point.

The Crew 2 outperforms its predecessor in almost all aspects. New disciplines, vehicles and better graphics join a cooperative multiplayer really fun that we have attached to the title for weeks.

The Crew 2 is much bigger and much better than its predecessor. It’s not perfect by any means, but it does tick many of the boxes that it desperately needed to, nevertheless. Issues with the lack of map engagement and the T-800 AI to the side, The Crew 2 offers a robust and gorgeously detailed racing experience. It’s accessible, fairly deep, well rounded and thoroughly entertaining, for the most part.

No PvP until DECEMBER! Mind you this is an online only racing game where the core mechanic is racing with friends yet there's no competitive modes whatsoever where as the first game had it right out the gate. The plane sections are no more than time trials, same as the off-road raids (which weren't in the first game). Cops are advertised but absent. Having said all that it does look pretty on the XB1X at 1800p. Yay! Though after watching comparison videos there are sections of the game that actually received a visual downgrade when viewed side by side with the original. Oh and the follower progression system is a blatant rip-off of Forza Horizon 3's system which this game clearly strives to be but falls woefully short.

The Crew 2 invents nothing, and excels at nothing. But it’s a huge mix of many fun and cool things to do, served by an amazingly big open-world turned into a sandbox for grown-up kids.

So compared to Forza, here are the pros and cons.Pros:* The world is much bigger here, meaning more stuff to do and I found this game having more unique races than Forza Horizon 3.* Next to cars, you also have bikes, boats and planes to offer greater variety.* All the menus are really clean and slick just like in Forza.Cons:* The cars look great but environmental graphics looks worse than Forza.* Physics are a bit too much Mario Kart style and I definitely prefer the Forza physics.* The AI is cheating with rubberbanding and it's super obvious.* Getting new vehicles takes forever since you get so little money from each race.In summary, if you liked Forza Horizon 3, you will enjoy this as well. However I can see Forza Horizon 4 being more high quality than The Crew 2, but this will be a good racer to play until it's October release.

It’s not bad, but it lacks imagination outside of the singular gimmick that you can change vehicles at any time, and ends up just being rather average.

The Crew 2 is big, confident, and stuffed with arcade racing action – land, sea, and air. There’s undoubtedly something still charming about a racing game that lets us drive an F1 car across the Golden Gate bridge, fly a Spitfire through the Grand Canyon, and crash a monster truck through Central Park, but its uneven presentation, lack of events that use its best features, and absent PvP is a bummer.

I think the developers made the right call by branching out with planes and boats and going for a more approachable play-what-you-like format.

The Crew 2 is a beautiful follow-up to the first. It packs a lot of punch inside of it and it’s friendly to all types of gamers. The world is still big, the events are great in number, and it just feels like a fun/simple racing game that you want to play on and off for a long time.
